Game Notes
Team Direction- Contender, a team that is looking to win it all this year. After trading for Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, they are a sure fire contending team. If they are not able to accomplish this task, expect Jason Kidd to be placed in the hot seat.

Last Year- 49-33

Team Breakdown- Deron Williams has lead the charge with 19.8 ppg and 7.0 apg. Brook Lopez has done an excellent job manning the middle as he grabs 7.5 rpg as well as 14.2 ppg. Paul Pierce and Joe Johnson have been excellent together on the wings. The truth with 15 ppg 6.7 rpg and 1.3 spg. JJ is scoring 18 ppg with 4.5 apg and 1.3 spg. The bench has been built around Jason Terry as he puts in 9.2 ppg.

GM Insight- This team is built to win. Money is not an issue for Mikhail Prokorov as he pays the $101.29m salary. Almost $15m more than the next highest team, cross town rival New York Knicks. The team will most likely stay consistent with the team they have throughout the season, as a trade could effect team chemistry and with this being the first year with the two new Boston Celtic future Hall-of-Famers, Brooklyn would not want to screw up the team's dynamic. This may be their only chance at a title with this core, so expect high expectations on Jason Kidd. It is not likely that if the team is struggling by the trade deadline, that Kidd keeps his job.

Upcoming Free Agents- Tyshawn Taylor, Tornike Shengelia, Paul Pierce, Shaun Livingston, Alan Anderson, Andray Blatche (Player Option), Andrei Kirilenko (Player Option).

Elite Facts-

Andrei Kirilenko ranks 3rd in Points per weighted shot, tied at 1.4

Nets have the 4th best 3pt team percentage in the NBA at .410

The Nets are the second worst rebounding team in the NBA at 42.7 rpg

The Nets are the worst offensive rebounding team in the NBA at 8.3 orpg

Rumors- The main rumors in Brooklyn are centered around Jason Kidd and how long his tenure will last with the Nets. A lot of pressure has been placed on Kidd and he has to deliver.

The Nets are very interested in prospect Willie Cauley-Stein from Kentucky. Brooklyn currently struggles to generate blocks and rebounds, both are the strengths of Cauley-Stein.

November 9th, 2013- Rudy Gay was moved for the second time in two years. This time to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The trade makes sense for both teams as Minnesota is trying to build a team around Kevin Love that will keep him satisfied and willing to stay in Minnesota. This is a huge lift for the Timberwolves as they are starting to look like a threat to the Western Conference elite. The trade was as follows

Minnesota receives: Rudy Gay, D.J. Augustin
Toronto receives: Derrick Williams, Chase Budinger, J.J. Barea, Gorgui Dieng, and 2nd round draft choice TBD.

Toronto has made it quite clear that Rudy Gay has not been in their plans. GM Ujiri was newly hired and is building around his gut instincts. Mainly Toronto has wanted to build around Jonas Valanciunas and is in high hopes of drafting Andrew Wiggins. Trading Gay will allow Toronto to really go all out in the tanking process and pick up nice prospects in Derrick Williams and Gorgui Dieng. Williams has averaged 7.7 ppg and 4.7 rpg in only 18.3 mpg. It looks like Toronto will be placing him in the starting lineup from the get-go and see how Williams fairs. Williams was the number 2 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft and has not quite lived up to the expectations.

Team Direction- Rebuilding/Playoffs, A team that is looking towards the future, but the Toronto Raptors have some nice pieces to make the playoffs. They could even build around the current team to be a tough playoff out, but are looking likely to the future as they look at different options.

Last Year- 34-48

Breakdown- Rudy Gay has lead the team with 21.3 ppg. Jonas Valanciunas has made steady progress this year as he is now averaging 11.3 ppg with 8.3 rebounds, which leads the team. Kyle Lowry has been an excellent play-maker as he averages 12.3 ppg and dishes 8.0 apg. Landry Fields has been emphatic off the bench on the defensive end, contributing 1.3 spg.

GM Insight- A team dependent on the building of future star center Jonas Valanciunas. They have good talent at all positions, but are not sure how the pieces will fit together. It seems likely that Toronto is not happy paying Rudy Gay $37.21M over the next couple seasons and would love to be in the Andrew Wiggins sweepstakes. Wiggins is a native of Canada and has expressed interest in playing for the only Canadian NBA team. Demar DeRozan is a stellar talent at the SG position and the Raptors will also look forward into finding the right balance as Terrence Ross could possibly emerge as a starting caliber talent as his development continues. The main restraint on Toronto's current lineup is the lack of depth and overall talent in the front court. With the overall team salary at a little over $64M, don't be surprised to see Toronto shed some cap room as they choose which direction to head the team in. Especially considering the current talent level of the lineup.

Upcoming Free Agents- Kyle Lowry, D.J. Augustin, Austin Daye (Team Option), Quincy Acy, Aaron Gray.

Elite Facts-

The Raptors have the 2nd highest point differential in the NBA by 10.3 ppg.

The Raptors have the 4th least amount of TO per game at 10.

Rudy Gay has struggled handling the ball, averaging 2.7 TOPG. The second most among SF's in the NBA.

Rumors-
The Toronto Raptors have been subject to rumors regarding placing the whole team on the trading block, except for Jonas Valanciunas. This week Gerald Spencer, the head scout, was sent out to watch Andrew Wiggins perform. They also scouted Gary Harris earlier last week and it's becoming more apparent that they may make moves that place them in a strong position to begin a more full-out tanking process. There have been a number of teams interested in Rudy Gay, as he is the main source of trade-bait that Toronto can offer. Chicago, Cleveland, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, Minnesota, Portland, and Washington have all at least been noted as contacting the Raptors. None of these teams have taken a lead as a suitor, but we will know more as the season progresses.

Power Rankings- 11th

GM Insight-
A strong contending roster with the star power of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, the Thunder will try to continue to build through these captivating pieces. With no big players in their contract year it will be interesting to see how OKC decides to build their franchise. They will have to be very careful as Clayton Bennett, owner of the Thunder, has expressed he may no be willing to pay the luxury tax. The teams weakness definitely revolves on their lack of depth and they may be able to swing their young pieces for a more reliable veteran presence as they move forward in contention.

Upcoming Free Agents- Derek Fisher, Thabo Sefolosha (restricted), Ryan Gomes, Hasheem Thabeet

Breakdown so far-
The Thunder are just 1-1 as of now in the early season. Durant has put up an astounding 31.5 ppg. The middle has been controlled well by Perkins as he leads the team in rebounding with 9 rpg. Westbrook has added 5 apg and has been the key play-maker.

Elite Facts-

The Thunder are 2nd in the NBA in FT% shooting .840.

Russell Westbrook was named NBA Player of the Week for the 1st week of NBA basketball for the Western Conference.

Rumors-

Thunder scout Dean Hamilton is currently on a trip to scout out Kentucky SF/PF Alex Poythress. Poythress is currently projected as a mid-late 1st round pick.

Game Notes
The defending Eastern Conference Champs head into Orlando to take on the number 4 pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, Shabazz Muhammad. Muhammad is averaging 13.4 pts 4 reb. His offense will most likely be tested going head to head with Gerald Wallace, an excellent defender. Afflalo is coming off a 36 pt performance against Detroit. He hopes to continue his play tonight. The Magic are having a rough year, bottom feeding at 13th in the conference.

Nets looking to keep strong against a weaker opponent. Brook Lopez has been stellar all year long. His averages 20.5 PPG 8.9 RPG. Nets, who earlier traded for Garnett this year giving up Humphries and a 1st round pick, hope to contend for a title once again in the East this year. This seems within reach if they can stay healthy. They are 4th in the conference and will continue to battle to rise in the standings.

The NBA game of the week headlines two teams that have not met the expectations set for them. The Lakers a year ago had a vision of an NBA Championship. Those dreams crashed along with Steve Nash's career. Nash was injured for the season and retired at that moment. The team continued fighting though. They played great and made it to the Western Conference Finals and took the NBA champion OKC Thunder to 7 games. After the rough loss the troubles continued. Dwight Howard would leave in Free Agency to sign with a younger up and coming Rockets team. Also, Metta World Peace would have a falling out and sign with cross-state rival Sacramento Kings, where he would mentor Demarcus Cousins who is dealing with mental issues as well. The Lakers missed out in free agency and were able to sign vet shooters to min contracts. They then gave up 2 1st round picks to attain a scoring point guard in Kyle Lowry. The team is still sitting in a mediocre standing. At least Kobe looked like the Kobe of old pouring in 38 pts. The Hawks struggled with the size of the Lakers and were unable to guard Bryant, Lowry, and Gasol. Jodie Meeks also provided a much needed spark for LA with 13 pts.

The Hawks rebuilding has been tough after trading Josh Smith for Kawhi Leonard and picks to the Spurs. But, they are showing flashes of competitiveness. They had a good off season signing key pieces in Millsap and Budinger. The results have yet to be pleasant and a lot of pressure is being put unto the coaching staff. They have a nice prospect in Mike Moser who was taken with the 11th pick in the draft. Millsap leads the team with 17.7 pts and 9.9 Reb. But, he was locked down by Laker big men Gasol and Hill. Lou Williams struggled but kept shooting. He finished with 17 pts. Budinger and Forbes provided excellent transition scoring for the Hawks off the bench and continue to fight to earn more min in this rotation.

Overall Kobe was too much for the Hawks, and the Lakers will continue to fight to try to work their way into a low playoff seed. They are 9th in the conference and 3 games behind the rising New Orleans Hornets. Lets hope the 1 year rental of Kyle Lowry will be enough for the Lakers to remain relevant.

Game Notes
Peyton Manning will open up his career with the Broncos tonight in Denver. The prime time game will be a huge matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers. With the playoff rematch of last year, it hopes to excite fans everywhere. With Denver losing Von Miller to a key injury that will keep him out for the year, Denver is worried that their pass rush won't be strong enough to counter Big Ben and his passing attack.

"Losing Von is tough, but we have guys that can step in and replace him."

John fox talked a lot about Nate Irving this week, the sophomore out of N.C. State.

"This will be a great chance for him to get playing experience and hope to develop him into a stud outside linebacker."

This game will definitely captivate the world tonight. With Peyton Manning under center, and two teams battling for the top of the AFC. It will surely be one to remember.

NOV-19 Boston MA.

The Boston Celtics barely pull off a 101-98 victory over the Thunder. Ray Allen played a great game with 25 points and hit four 3 ptrs. "That's what he does" Rondo said about his teammate. " He makes it look so easy and is such a great shooter. While Ray Allen was connecting on his 3's Kevin Durant Struggled. Shooting 0-7 from 3 pt land. "I just got to get my rythem back. Paul played me tough from outside and I was not sure how to handle it."
Also, during the game K.G. suffered a break to his finger. At halftime he said "I'm not going to let it keep me down." He stayed in the game and helped Boston's big 3 battle Oklahoma's.

FRIDAY 11/19 Boston Celtics VS Oklahoma City Thunder

CELTICS
A huge game for both teams, the Celtics come into this game 5-6. A very dissapointing beginning for a great celtic team. Although, their struggles seem to be contagious in the east. They still lead their division, and are in 4th place in the conference. Their latest power ranking is 21.

Ray Allen leads this team in scoring with 17.4 points per game. Rajon Rondo leads the team with 10.3 assists per game. Kevin Garnett leads the team with 10 rebounds per game.

THUNDER
The Thunder also have not gotten off to as good as a start as they hoped for only being a game over 500. They are 6-5 and ranked second in the northwest division. They are tied for 7th in the conference. They are coming off a 77-113 loss to the Houston Rockets. Hopefully looking to find their offense and defense in the upcoming Boston game.

Kevin Durant leads this team in scoring with 28.8 points per game. R. Westbrook leads the team in assists with 5.7 per game. Kevin durant suprisingly leading the Thunder in rebounds with 9.1 per game.

PREDICTIONS

The Celtics need this game and will come out with great intensity on the defensive end. Look for Paul Pierce to accept the scoring faceoff against Kevin Durant. Celtics should win this one.

BULLS AT SPURS

Manu Ginobli was unguardable in tonights game. "He came ready to play. When his game is on, this team takes it to the next level." Tony Parker said about his teammate. Manu Ginobili had 24 points in the game and snatched 6 rebounds. The impressive thing was at the point guard position. Tony Parker dropped 13 dimes. Two away from his career high. While Derrick Rose dropped 15 setting his new career high. "Players were hitting shots." Derrick said. Both teams shot above 50% which lead to the high scoring duel. In the fourth quarter it looked like the Spurs were going to pull away only to be stopped by Derrick Rose's unbelievable 4th quarter performance, hitting a clutch 3 and dishing off to teammates sixth man of the game CJ Watson. But, the big three in SA really lead a clutch performance for their team to hold on and finish the game.
